Since the 12 of November, the first FOKKER (F27) of Ivory Coast first President, Felix Houphouet- Boigny, has left the GATL cemetery for the new site of its revival: The Palace of the Culture.

Fokker, one of the most important aerospace firms in Europe, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, has studied and mass-produced the F 27.

History:
After independences, Ivory Coast has got an Air force.
The flight is stationed at DATEF( ) in Bouaké.
In 1962, the flight leaves Bouake to the present air base of Abidjan.
1963 is the arrival of first planes with Ivorian colours: Orange-White-Green
In 1979, Ivory Coast receives its first F27, it is a presidential plane.

The first F27 specification
It is of MK 600 type with 10579 as serial number and 579 as production number in the MK 600 type.
This first F27 is a presidential plane with TU-VAJ as registration.( TU for Ivory Coast/VA for the Army) and the alphabetical letter at the end, the letter j, as the arrival or purchase or substitution order in case of sale or crash.
Its number in the F27 version is 6259.
Made the 11 of January 1979, TU-VAJ made its first flight at GATL, the present air base of Abidjan, the 17 of January 1979.

Two pilots, one flight engineer.

The F27 is kit out with two Roll Royce Dart 536-R turbo propellers.

TU-TIH history
In 1979 the government of Ivory Coast relied on the Air force (GATL) and entrusted it with the national airline, Air Ivoire.
The 18 of June 1979, the registration of the presidential Plane (TU-VAJ) becomes TU-TIH for Air Ivoire.
(TU:Ivory Coast / TI: Air Ivoire) H: alphabetical letter in the arrival or substitution order in case of sale or crash.
