Room Niangoran Porquet

At the beginning, forecasted as a rehearsal Room, this marvelous small room with exotic paneled walls can receive small events, meeting and conferences, ballets etc…
It is particularly reserved for screening, cinematographic festivals and a film-club.

the playwright, actor and screen actor

Dieudonne Seraphin Niangoran Porquet was born in 1948 in korhogo (north), his father is Nzima(south) and his mother is Malinke ( North). He died the 7 of august 1995.
He was french qualified teacher and teached french at grammar schools and secondary schools. He teached at university level college that prepare students for senior post in teaching and other professions over the last few years of his life. However, he was more known as an artist, a multidimentional artist , a playwright, an actor and a screen actor, ‘ adjatio’ ‘ petanqui’. Very early, he created the ‘griotique’ concept at the faculty of letter , Abidjan University but he really created the concept at lycee classique of abidjan where with two friends, Cyprien Aboubacar Toure and Ano Nianzou, he made some ‘ poetic recitals’ with Sidiki Bakaba as theatre Director.
It is after his collaboration with Sidiki Bakaba that Niangoran Porquet called ‘ Niango the african’ worked for his own sake, trying to define ‘ an authentically african drama’.
Inspired from the art of ‘griot’, the ‘griotique’, according to his conceptor is a ‘total theatre’integrating a methodical and harmonious way, the verb and the self-expression, music and dance, poetry and story.
As an actor, Niango ‘the african’ is a passionate man with his strong voice in some plays such as ‘c’est quoi meme’by sidiki Bakaba, ‘Beatrice du congo’ by Bernard dadie, but also in his own creation, particularly presented on radio ( ‘belles pages, belles plages’, ‘Africanides’, ‘theatre de chez nous’) and on TV
