A desperate man about to commit the irreparable crossing the parapet of a bridge over a river. Suddenly a reporter corrupt and unscrupulous stops in its movement and begs him to repeat the gesture drafted for him to take the shot because it is finally the scoop that will stand out journalists missed.
Follows an acrimonious debate in which both players defend their right: one chose death for himself and intends to live as a solitary act of freedom and the other argument to justify a cliche that will get out of anonymity of a humdrum existence.
This discussion has unexpected effects: the desperate, pleading for the freedom of his act, discovers he has no reason to kill himself and the reporter persisted in obtaining cost what the cliché that earned him the fame, will discover a killer in action.
This piece is a condemnation of the lack of effective communication and irresponsibility of those who participate in free information and code of ethics that place the interests of career before the sacred rights of the human person to life and respect.
It is also a demonstration by the absurd, the remedial power of the word carries meaning, even in the most extreme situations, can help a human being to reconnect with life. |
