Interviews

Urbain AMOA (Chancellor of the UTLA)
(UTLA: Time Free University of Abidjan). It is written that when the reality is stylized, it is more beautiful, but otherwise alive. We rediscover Sidiki Bakaba that we admire. We rediscover a young, vibrant, hopeful, who has tried and has been able to share what she has lived and felt during this period. I am pleased that Diegou Bailly and Sidiki Bakaba we have been able to raise us far above what we experienced, to project in history. Sidiki Bravo! Is there a role that I enjoyed more than others ...? In terms of artistic production as in textual production, the point is as important as the end point and must be taken into account.

Martin GUEDEBA (Comedian - Teacher)
It is a piece that marries both the social and political situation in our country. All notices which are given by the characters are, I think the opinions of each other now. I think our politicians should come to see this kind of piece that can be a kind of questioning, a kind of interrogation as we say in law. Actually, when I look the part and I dwell on the subject, I remain perplexed. Should we encourage discourse "xenophobic" Bi Ballo character or must agree with the speech somewhat colonial characters who are not going to say, the social space? In any case, the real dilemma this piece, which I think takes us to another area that we can build to build nations. A space where we take account of each other. In a word, a space where culture, in its definition, ie the identity or what characterizes an individual, which makes it different from the other, should be taken into account.

Diégou BAILLY (The Author)
Apart from the joy that every author of a dramatic text may have in seeing his piece played by good actors, themselves led by an excellent director, I can say that the spirit of my text is well respected. What seems also very interesting in my opinion and worthy of being noted is the power of words intensifies, through characters who are no longer lying on paper but actually "alive". It is a power as I am led to rediscover my own text. I discovered, for example, with a pleasant surprise as a character Ouédraogo (to mention only the case among many others) in the skin which I find myself away when I wrote the piece. The director succeeds in deepening the text and highlight its highlights and its hidden aspects. All this is to its credit. I am therefore satisfied.

SEM Aubrey HOOKS (Ambassador of the USA in Ivory Coast)
It is a fine theatrical performance I appreciate at its true value. I look forward to seeing him again. I am passionate about culture and this piece has several reading schemes where the importance of the review to better define.

Charles BLE GOUDE (President of the COJEP and the Alliance of the young patriots)
This was for me a rewarding experience. Mr. Sidiki Bakaba has once again proved his sense of professionalism. We have been edified by seeing the skill with which the staging is done. This piece traces the crisis we are experiencing in recent years. We are in the Palace of Culture proposes "Monoko-Zohi" all patriots. For this, he should take one or two or even more special days so that all patriots can have the opportunity to attend the performance. I was fascinated by the role of the young woman [Tra Lou] that galvanizes people, urges them to fight and resist. It does this instead of men. It is a real horsewoman. However, I did not appreciate the reluctance of the head Tizie at first, because it relies only on God to hide his fears. But a leader needs to reassure and communicate with people, his strength, his courage and convictions.

Idriss OUATTARA (President of Parliaments and Agora of Ivory Coast)
I am a lover of theater, but my work no longer permitted me to attend creations. It is with great pleasure that I attended the performance of "Monoko-Zohi" which is a symbol of resistance. The room is located in the heart of the Ivorian crisis. It traces the difficulties related to the crisis (rural land, immigration, imperialism of the former colonial power, etc..). I urge all leaders of the galaxy to follow this patriotic piece. In addition, the work of actors is excellent. I was particularly touched by the game's narrator, the daughter of [Tra Lou] and all the characters.

Kutchala SUTCHI (Musician and Singer)
This piece awakens in me almost what we have lived these last six years. It's a conspiracy, if you want almost international, who is frustrated. The draft rule of the invader are laid bare. It is as if we wanted to share a cake and that required the claimant to serve the cake, but without using himself, which is otherwise almost impossible. In this context, if the divine had intervened, the owner of the cake itself would be served by its guests. How can we imagine that the generous owner of an oasis where everyone comes to drink can not be allowed to control its source and still less to drink it?
That is my vision in the sense of crisis that saw the Ivory Coast and that part makes it through the lens of art boards.

TIMITE Bassori (First Ivory Coast film-maker)
I was much impressed by this piece; First, with respect to the holding (that is to say how the piece unfolds, the shape). And then the things that are said to correspond somewhat to the reality we live today. And I think it brings us many things, but sobering. The play is modeled on the Greek theater (because we find the Coryphaeus, choirs etc..). All this moves into a collective whole. So that we can not assess the role of each in relation to others. And I think on this plan, this part of something very special. I recommend to everyone to come and see. And it's a pity that today, there has been no more people than that.

Students of Lycée Technique
The representation of Monoko-Zohi, 18 December, saw the participation of students from the Lycée Technique d'Abidjan and those of La Farandole.
Very popular, the play has given rise to a debate in which students and teachers posed questions to the actors.
Overall, the concerns of viewers have turned around the scene, performance difficult to some people as the old man.
Summarizing the general impression, one teacher said, congratulating the actors: "You played with talent. You've played the full game while you text. As students, we accept the impressions of Miss Rosina GNAZOU N'DAH Flavie Technical High School of Abidjan, class Tle G1 (optional benefit): "Monoko-Zohi expression, demonstrated by its staging and the acting a story that revolves around the war. For us, Monoko-Zohi educates us on the harms of war, so we know we have. We commend the director who knew how to present the role of death is actually an abstract character. "
KOUADIO N'Guetta Mr. Ulrich, a pupil at the Lycee Technique in Abidjan Tle F2 (industrial sector) has also given his impressions: "This play really touched me. It was really rich at all levels (light, sound, costumes, etc..). I have never seen a play and I would urge people to come. "

Students of Lycée Sainte Marie
The morning of Saturday, December 4, 2004 was special at the Palace of Culture in Abidjan. Indeed, students of the school Sainte Marie de Cocody many came to attend the performance of "Monoko-Zohi. This massive turnout did not remain without consequence on the mood of the room that vibrated wildly after some aftershocks.
The girls are all identified with the character of Tra Lou, the young wife of Tra Bi, whose mindset is that of the young Ivorian women of today who, as has been seen worldwide, descended into the streets to demonstrate their patriotism and to fight the battle of resistance, bare hands.
Having greatly enjoyed the play, the girls of St. Mary High School were keen to share after the show, with actors in the palace courtyard. A great experience already initiated last year with schools, companies, corporate bodies, etc.. For the season, the school Sainte Marie de Cocody has set the tone.

Bernard Zadi ZAOUROU (Former Minister of Culture)
The opening of the theater season at the Palace of Culture in Abidjan, it's coming. Perhaps only a matter of hours. The number of Diegou Bailly, Monoko-Zohi, staged by the director of the Culture Palace in Abidjan, Sidiki Bakaba, will set the tone. Before the premiere, personalities from cultural and artistic world had the privilege to attend the assembly part. Zadi Zaourou, former minister of culture, out of a meeting, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work that will be given to the public to see. He, also dwelt on the work of high-level exhibit the students called the Actor's Studio and make successful careers in the profession of actor. Professor Emeritus did not hide her joy and said he was confident the future of professional theater in Côte d'Ivoire, and a cultural awakening of the Ivorian nation. Over at the Palace of Culture in Abidjan, after several sessions of spinning the show, we are willing to offer a large room to the public. This especially since the text Diegou Bailly itself forces a certain respect as it is rooted in the present and unfolds into a wonderful mural that mark, they say, the spirits calling for tolerance and reconciliation.
