PRODUCTION : Ayala BAKABA Presentation - PhotosInterviews Bernard B. Dadié, father of the modern Ivory Coast literature (Present at the 3rd representation):
I congratulate you very much. Especially my friend Diegou Bailly, who asserted in playwriting. Thank you to you who came. For you must live theater.
Foua Ernest Saint Sauveur, President of Writers of Côte d'Ivoire:
It's a piece that I really appreciated, especially because she is one of our colleagues, a senior who has strong writing, Diegou Bailly in this case. I spent a wonderful evening. I encourage our writers, our brothers and sisters to produce works of this size there.
Frank Anderson Kouassi, journalist, Secretary General of CNCA
(National Council of Audiovisual Communication):
I'll tell you a secret: This is the first time I've come to the theater. I confess that I am not amazed because the author of this piece is my boss (editor's note: Diegou Bailly is the President of CNCA). It's really a great piece and I attend as many times as it is programmed and that my schedule allows me.
Honorat De Yédagne, journalist, former Director General of the daily Fraternité Matin:
Returning to the roots of popular theater. We left the theater ritual that has been with people who brought us such as to Didiga Zadi Zaourou. And today we Diegou Bailly offers a return to basics. It restores the daily lives of people we meet, we see without seeing. Because each of us by his own realities refuse to see what the life of those "down below" as we say here at home. So another way to challenge us on our responsibility in the march of the nation. And I think that when we negotiate a historic gamble with the future for our country, such an inquiry is timely. The show I liked. I would be pleased to see him.
Souleymane Koly, playwright, director of Koteba:
My impressions are excellent. The long-could see what kind of pieces that are both serious, well written, well acted and at the same time evoke social issues which concern us directly. I think when you talk about theater Ivory Coast since the days of Koffi Gadeau Bernard Dadi, he was always characterized by a very serious social background with plenty of humor and derision. I found all these ingredients that work beautifully worn by young people who are excellent players. So bravo to the author, bravo to the actors and director Sidiki Bakaba.
Demba Traore, businessman, manager I2S2
"Hèrèmankono" was a success. One could not expect anything else from a collaboration of two great names of the culture in Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Sidiki Bakaba and Diegou Bailly. So that marriage could only give a show as fantastic as we have seen tonight. I enjoyed the marriage between the cogito and the popular. It was really refreshing.
Dr. Ibrahim Diaby, journalist and sociologist
The piece is an excellent surprise. First because we do not expect to see Sidiki Bakaba to the staging of a play full of humor, as he has used to great dramas and tragedies mounted always brilliantly. Then Diegou Bailly, who is recognized as one of the best journalists of our continent for its integrity has many great qualities as a writer. Considering the job he performs, he is seen as a man rather seriously. Yet he has a great sense of humor. So with this play happens to make us think through laughter. Hèrèmankono take our tragedy on a plateau where we seem to step back for a vision a little fresher for our own existence. And the poverty here is not celebrated as such, but as a way of thinking about ourselves and a part of our society that is completely rejected. These are the ghettos. All the miseries which are daily so that eventually we no longer know what they are misery. When there is no solution, we end up clinging to the idea of God and this created new pests that are certain types of preachers. They create what I call the religious charlatanism and try the name of God to exploit the misery of others. I say hats Diegou Bailly, Sidiki Bakaba hat and hat to the team and actors from the Palace of Culture.
Clementine Papouet, actress:
It is a great piece. It depicts the entire society. She speaks of the hope we never see. It said "it will go, I'll be fine, but it does not always. Characters have invented their own world. They ended up creating a religion. It also challenges the many religions that are created with a vengeance. The play lasted 2:30, but we did not feel the time pass because it is full of surprises. A well paced, with seasoned actors. And it does not surprise me a great man of letters lined with a senior journalist, Diegou Bailly. I told him congratulations.
Amadou Souane, actor:
We returned to a form of theater that we experienced during the 15-year-long Theater School. It's a piece whose language is accessible to all. The decor is sober. The light curtain serves to mark the end of a scene and the opening of another. With this play is both a comedy and a drama, the Palace of Culture renews with a type of theater we've had. I am delighted. The Palace of Culture has already produced plays such as "Storm Island", "The Exile Albouri" etc.. This shows that we offer a variety of theatrical performances. With this piece, the Palace so we offer something different from what he has presented so far and all the credit goes to Sidiki Bakaba. Congratulations to the team. They are young brothers that I saw studying at the Actor Studio Abidjan. I will return to the 5th and the 10th representation because it is a piece that is to see and review.
